On September 8, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck the southwest of Marrakesh, Morocco, and just 19 minutes later, a 4.9 magnitude aftershock occurred. Two days later, on September 10, another 3.99 magnitude aftershock occurred.

Moroccan residents lost their homes and families, they are still afraid of not knowing when another aftershock will occur. Rescue support continues to be needed due to the damage being so severe that up to 300,000 people are expected to be affected.

However, in the Al Haouz region of the Atlas Mountains, where more than half of the total deaths, the rugged terrain, and weak road conditions are hindering rescue teams, and there are still missing family members that need to be found.

Survivors must somehow continue their lives while waiting endlessly for their families and rescuers. Even at this moment, Morocco desperately needs at least one helping hand. We plan to use the valuable donations from our donors to provide urgent emergency relief supplies (food, daily necessities, sanitary products, etc.) to neighbors suffering from the earthquake. The victims’ lives are at risk right now. We ask for your warm interest and support so that they can return to a safe life.
