I am disabled and my wife is my caregiver. We live on my fixed income. Recently my new landlord said that he had decided to tear down the home we live in. We have to be out by October 1st. We found a new place, but can't afford both the rent and the security deposit. My wife got a temporary job and she does some online work to try and raise the security deposit. Then we were both hit with covid and are quaranteed so she can't work to continue earning the security deposit. The security deposit is $600, but we only have around $250. I would greatly appreciate any donation so we don't end up homeless.

More Info

Hello. I am disabled with numerous, serious, and life threatening conditions. My wife is my caregiver. She resigned when we were told that I can no longer be at home by myself, after she came home and found me passed out because of autonomic neuropathy. So now we live on my fixed income.

In May we received a note from our new landlord that he decided to remove the mobile home we live in. We couldn't find anything that was available and affordable. All affordable places had and still have long waiting lists. After we received an eviction notification from the court, we appealed it to have more time to find another place.

We finally found another place. I can pay the rent, but I don't receive enough to afford the security deposit too. My wife has been trying to help raise the security deposit by doing some online work. And she got a temporary, part time job. It's very flexible and she's able to bring me to work with her, so I'm not at home by myself.

Then we were both hit with COVID and put on quarantine. My wife was especially hit. That totally hindered her from her part time job. She can go back, but not until after we have to move. And she's become so sick that it has hindered her from doing online work like she wants to.

The security deposit is $600. So far we only have $264.78. We still need $335.22. A friend recommended that we do an online fundraiser. We are in a race against time. We have to move out October 1, 2023. We would greatly appreciate anything you can donate so we don't end up homelss.

Major Update: A dear friend donated $172.50, which we greatly appreciate. However, after Fundly takes out their fees, we will receive over $20 less than that. And they do financial transactions via Stripe who takes out more fees. Plus, they take seven days to be processed. We won't receive the funds until October 3rd. I explained to Stripe that we'll be homeless by then. We really needed the funds so we could move October 1st.

It would really help us greatly if the donations could be made to our PayPal account. If you have a PayPal account please send donations to [email protected]. This way we get the full amount in a timely manner. However, any way you choose to donate will be greatly appreciated. God bless you. Thanks so much.
